Open Mat

Simply put, open mat is the ideal time for a student to get extra training time on the mat, either practicing technique or sparring with a training partner. It’s also a great opportunity to ask the instructor any questions you have about Jiu-Jitsu, exercise, diet, etc.

Competition Training

The competition class (gi and no-gi) is in place to help students further their understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s application in real life and competition type settings. The class is open to everyone and includes more sparring time and drills to help you improve faster. This is a required class for those who want to compete under the Foster Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/One Jiu-Jitsu competition team, it is also highly recommended for those who do not compete and are serious about becoming more well rounded in the art.

Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals

This class is dedicated to helping students of all levels develop and refine the foundational mechanics of their technique as well as their understanding of Jiu-Jitsu and the base principles which make it one of the most effective martial arts in the world. Students in this class will be taught in a structured progression to help them retain the techniques and build a strong foundation and understanding of the art.

The Striking 101 class is ideal for those who want to build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of striking (boxing and kickboxing) as well as improving their overall conditioning. This class is open to ALL skill levels and will provide you with valuable tools to round out your skill set.

Kids Jiu-Jitsu & Self Defense

Our kids Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense classes will help your child develop self confidence, discipline, respect, and coordination while training in a fun and exciting family atmosphere. They will learn the fundamental movements of Jiu-Jitsu while interacting with other children their age.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

The BJJ classes cover a wide variety of techniques and drills to take a student from beginner to advanced. Students in these classes wear the traditional Jiu-Jitsu Gi, also known as a kimono. These classes provide the foundation for all of your grappling training and should be an integral part of your training regimen. It is also suggested that students train in both Gi and No-Gi classes to develop a well rounded game. All of our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are open to students of all skill levels beginner through advanced.

Private Lessons

A private lesson is a one on one training session between the student and a Defiance coach. The purpose of these lessons is to focus on the individual needs of each student and to help them develop their own strategies and style. Private lessons are ideal for those who want to drastically improve their technique and conditioning in a short period of time. Private lessons are available for individual students, or small groups of 1-4 students*
